Within the Landscape Architecture Master course of Neapolis University in Cyprus, on Friday October 20th, Dr. Katerina Goltsiou, President of the Panhellenic Association of Landscape Architects (PHALA) and IFLA Europe and IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) Delegate, gave a lecture under the title: LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE: International and Greek Perspectives.
The lecture took place with regards to the celebration of the first International Landscape Day (20th of October), as recently designated by the Council of Europe.
The main subjects discussed, were about the professional and scientific perspectives on Landscape Architecture, on an International and National level, as well as the role of IFLA and PHALA about the protection and promotion of the profession of Landscape Architect.
The event was co-ordinated by the Associate Professor Julia Georgi, President of the Department of Architecture and Geo-Environmental Sciences. Students from the Landscape Architecture Master course, and the Architecture department, as well as a wide audience of scientists from the University of Neapolis and the region of Paphos, were present and attended the lecture.
On behalf of the University of Neapolis, Professor Konstantinos Athanasopoulos, Chairman of the Department of Law, addressed the role of the Council of Europe in the field of Landscape. At the end, a constructive discussion followed.
