The visit of Metropolitan Elpidoforos (Ecumenical Patriarchate) and the event of the Byzantine Gardens of Theological School of Halki

Following  the visit of Metropolitan of Bursa (Ecumenical Patriarchate), Elpidoforos, Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Cyprus, a meeting took place with Rectorial Council  of Neapolis University, where was discussed the further collaboration of Theological School of Halki with Neapolis University in Cyprus.

Further a  special event took place on Thursday, October 6, within the Master of Landscape Architecture of Neapolis University for the presentation of the Byzantine Gardens of  Halki.

Welcome speeches were given by:

  • The metropolitan of Pafos Georgios
  • the Vice-President of Neapolis University of Pafos Mr. George Leptos
  • The Vice-Rector of Neapolis University of Pafos Prof. Nikolaos Zacharopoulos

The important “Work” that Metropolitan Elpidoforos did for the Holy Theological School of Halki was highlighted.
The event included two presentations:

  1. Metropolitan of Bursa (Ecumenical Patriarchate), Elpidoforos presented the past-the present and the future of Theological School of Halki and
  2. Dr. Julia Georgi, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences of Neapolis University and Team Leader for the Landscape Design of Halki, presented the Design and the implementation of Halki Gardens emphasising the main thematical gardens. Among them mentioned the  “Virtue Garden” where each plant symbolises a “Virtue” and the “Garden of the Holy Bible”  where the plants  mentioned  in the Holy Bible were planted.
